I'm looking to buy a nice harness and have been researching them on the web. I'm sure it's like Ford vs Chevy, but what are some of your likes and dislikes. I like the reviews on the Aquata Equipe XT, It lists for $167.00 (ouch!) The Aquata Worrel ($260) is really nice but way out of my price range.
If anyone has one or two harnesses that you want to sell let me know. I really want the over-the-shoulder type with leg straps. I have the old style Prindle lace-up crotch harness, very uncomfortable! They have GOT TO GO!

My favorite is the horribly expensive Zhik full harness. It is SUPER comfortable, but rather stiff and heavy.
I would stay away from the Worrell - it has "legs" that make it great for hours in the trapeze, but not so great for scrambling across the tramp for recreational sailing and buoy racing. If I remember, KO Sailing has a couple of these in stock if you want to look. They also have several Gill full harnesses and a couple of Hobie harnesses - as of 26 April.
I tried the Hobie convertible - which has detachable shoulder straps - can go as seat or full harness, and found it to be comfortable in the showroom - but at the time, I was only looking for a half harness.
Also, watch out for many of the kiteboard or windsurfing harnesses. Their stiff high backs can snag on the boom as you go under. You want something that isn't too stiff, and has a low hook. If the hook can ride up above your belly-button - it affects your lifejacket.
Come out to the TCDYC Meet and Greet - and try out everyone's - I'm sure people will be glad to let you take their harness for a spin.
